South Park 20th Anniversary show

I got a call from Ron English recently. He said he was in a bind, and asked if I would make a painting about South Park in a week. I said, “sure.”

We all know South Park: that crazy timely cartoon show where nothing is off limits. As usual, I had a million ideas of how to approach a painting of the show; instead of focusing on the four main characters, I wanted to do something a little unexpected. I never thought I’d ever paint Kanye West, but I love how they skewer him on the show. So this is my take on South Park’s take on Kanye as Baphomet, as Jesus.

Comedy Central set up a big mini version of South Park at SDCC last month. I wasn’t there, of course, but it looked fun. They set up a nice gallery space to display all the artwork. If you missed it, don’t worry, it’ll be shown in LA and NYC soon.
